Location
Kattilahalli, Helsinki
UrbanHEL MEGA-tapahtuma järjestetään Helsingin Suvilahdessa Kattilahallissa 26.8.2023 klo 10 – 18.
PLEASE NOTE that there's no parking place for cars at Kattilahalli (Mega area)!
If you arrive by car
For those arriving by car, we recommend either using HSL's park and ride services, which means you should park your car at your chosen park and ride parking lot and take public transport to Kattilahalli (read the instructions at the end of this page), or you can use the nearby Redi shopping center's parking hall (using the Taskuparkki app). There is ongoing construction in the vicinity of Kattilahalli, affecting both parking areas and roadways. Some parking spaces are available sporadically, but it's not advisable to rely on them, as the availability of parking spaces and instructions varies based on the status of the construction.
If you come by airplane
From the airport Mega-event is easily reachable by public transport: bus #600 takes you directly from the airport to the Mega-event location: bus stop Sörnäinen (M) or you can take the train to the center of Helsinki and then change to subway, tram or bus.
Route planner is a great tool for trip planning using public transportation in the capital area. The trip from the airport to the center of Helsinki or Mega-event area requires an ABC-ticket and takes about an hour.
If you plan to use tram, bus or subway
If you plan to use public transportation, the easiest way is to install the HSL app https://www.hsl.fi/en/tickets-and-fares/hsl-app . The application requires mobile data. With the app you can purchase tickets and plan your trips. The tickets must be purchased beforehand. There are ticket vending machines at the train and subway stations. NB: tickets are not sold in the trains / subway / trams / buses etc.
You can purchase a single ticket or a day ticket (1-13 days). The capital area is divided into zones (A-D). More info about public transportation tickets, zones, validity and how to buy: https://www.hsl.fi/en/tickets-and-fares https://www.hsl.fi/en/tickets-and-fares
Closest stops:
Subway: Sörnäinen (~750 m) and Kalasatama (~600 m)
Tram: Sörnäinen (M) (~500 m), lines 1, 6, 7, and 8
Bus: Suvilahti, next to Mega-event area, line 16
The Helsinki region transport - Helsingin seudun liikenne (HSL)
https://www.hsl.fi/en/travelling/visitors
The Helsinki Region Transport includes Helsinki region buses, metros, trams, commuter trains, city bikes, and the Suomenlinna ferry.
The HSL area covers Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Siuntio, Kirkkonummi, Sipoo, Kerava, and Tuusula. The area is divided into four zones, designated as A, B, C, and D starting from the Helsinki city center. See the zones here:
https://www.hsl.fi/en/tickets-and-fares
For the city center area where the Mega Event is taking place, an AB ticket is sufficient. Although a BC ticket also covers Helsinki, it does not provide access to the event area. If you're traveling from, for example, the airport to the city center using public transportation, you'll need an ABC ticket. Tickets cannot be purchased for individual zones A, B, or C. More information at: https://www.hsl.fi/en/tickets-and-fares
The easiest way to purchase a ticket is through the HSL mobile app or at the ticket machines located at some stations. Tickets are not sold on vehicles and must be bought in advance. The HSL mobile app can be found in app stores, and more information is available here:
