The geoskills competition

The geoskills -competition is organized in conjunction with the UrbanHEL Mega-Event at Kattilahalli venue in Helsinki. The game can be started between 10.00 and 16.00 to be able to play for the full time. You must finish the game by 17.00. It's a free of charge game and a fun competition. In the competition, winners are awarded several times a day. After each game, the competitors with the most points are rewarded. In the case of a tie, the winner will be drawn between them. Prizes are not mailed, they have to be picked up at the Mega event.

Competitors who participated in the previous game awarding will not participate in the next game awardings, even if they missed out on a prize and their score was greater than the winner of a later game. E.g. The score of Geocacher A was 100 points and A was not awarded. In the later game, the number of points entitled to the award of those who participated in the game remains at 85 points. Geocacher A will not take part in the next awarding. You can participate in only one awarding. The completion time determines which awarding the competitor will take part.

Geotools generally used in geocaching may be useful in this competition. Have the equipment you think necessary in your backpack; for example, a magnet, a UV lamp, a mirror, a headlamp, a smart phone, binoculars, etc. may help in completing tasks. However, the climbing gear, ladder, diving equipment and fishing rod are not needed in this game. Feel free to ask geo colleagues for help if you don't have all the equipment with you.

You can participate in the geoskills competition by finding the QR code of the competition and the password written nearby in Kattilahalli venue. The QR code takes you to the competition page, and the competition starts by entering your geocaching nickname, phone number and the password. The competition time is 60 minutes and it starts when you press the Start button, it's not worth trying to guess the password. This is to prevent players from losing their game time by being elsewhere than Kattilahalli. You can participate in the competition only once. You can stop playing by pressing the Done button before the one hour time limit is reached, however you cannot return to continue the game after that. The points you have collected until that are counted as your final result.. Siihen asti keräämäsi pisteet lasketaan saavutetuksi tulokseksi.

Points are earned solving the tasks and it is possible to get 1-3 points from one task. The score for the task is shown on the answering line. You can change your answers as long as your game is running. Your most recent answer will be used and it will be compared to the correct answer.
